Product overview
Details that help confirm the fit.
The Riello Photocell is a compact photoelectric flame sensor designed for flame supervision in compatible Riello oil burners.
During the burner start-up sequence, the photocell monitors light produced by the established oil flame. The sensor converts the detected flame light into an electrical signal and transmits the signal to the burner control box.
When a valid flame signal is detected within the permitted safety period, the control box allows normal burner operation to continue. If the flame fails to establish or is lost during operation, the control box shuts down the fuel supply and places the burner into safety lockout.
The photocell features a compact black thermoplastic housing with an integrated optical sensing element. Its plug-in construction allows the sensor to be installed directly into the compatible burner mounting position and connected to the burner control circuit.
Reliable flame detection is essential for safe oil-burner operation. A contaminated sensing surface, loose electrical connection, incorrect positioning or damaged sensor can cause intermittent flame detection and repeated burner lockout.
The photocell is suitable for compatible Riello burners operating with heating oil, diesel and kerosene. Typical applications include heating boilers, steam boilers, hot-water boilers, oil-fired furnaces, industrial ovens and hot-air generators.
The sensor should be inspected and cleaned during routine burner servicing. The replacement photocell must match the burner series, control-box technology and sensor housing used in the original installation.
Model, voltage, rotation, pressure range and mounting can vary. Final compatibility is confirmed against the nameplate or existing component.
